The Jim and Ginette Munson Autism Leadership Award was created in 2020 in recognition of the longstanding commitment  of the Honourable Jim Munson, member of the Senate of Canada, and his wife Ginette, to achieving a more inclusive Canada for Autistic persons and their loved ones, and the development of a National Autism Strategy. This annual award is presented to an Autistic individual living in Canada who has demonstrated the leadership, determination and values that reflect Jim and Ginette’s commitment to the creation of a national autism strategy.

Eligibility/Guidelines: The Nominee must be an autistic living in Canada.  The award is not open to current employees or Directors of the Autism of Alliance of Canada.

 
Nominations must be:  

1) submitted in writing and not exceed 750 words

 or

 2) be submitted via video, the length of which must not exceed three minutes.  No attachments or appendices will be reviewed.  

Only one nomination will be reviewed for each nominee. In the event that two or more nominations are received for the same person, the committee will reach out to the nominee, share the names of the nominators and determine which nominator’s submission will be reviewed.  The submissions themselves will not be shared.  

The Nominee must be an autistic living in Canada.  The award is not open to current employees or Directors of the Autism of Alliance of Canada.
